Plastic Raised Beds Are Solid Garden Structures

Friday, October 14th, 2011

Garden structures are often used to add functionality and beauty to a back yard garden. We use them for things like having an urban garden, protecting plants through the winter, or just for beauty’s sake. It really is not important what type of structure you need, but you should look into what it will take to accomplish your garden goals. So, if you live in an apartment and have just a little space, a raised bed is going to be a good choice. If you have more space, maybe a greenhouse will work.

Plastic Raised Beds are coming along at the perfect time. As people are enjoying living in urban areas more, they are also much more interested in eating locally. Raised beds help those that have very little outside space to accomplish both goals. Everything from vegetables to spices are possible when you put a raised garden bed in your outside urban space. You don’t even need a permit to grow a garden.

Once you have decided to build your raised bed, think about how you want your garden to be laid out. Think about putting your growing things into zones. For instance, put spices in one corner and root vegetables in another. In the opposite space, put tomato plants propped up with whatever you have available. Or, you can ignore this altogether. Whatever you decide, start growing your garden today.

Sometimes it can take a little bit of effort to get started on something. Sometimes we need a little inspiration to get going. Take the time to research for yourself on starting a garden. You will find that raised garden beds are some of the best ways to start a vegetable or spice garden. Another, maybe even better, thing is the health benefits that come from growing your own food. There won’t be any chemicals or synthetic materials. It will be all natural, homegrown goodness.

5 Reasons Nobody is Home

Monday, August 1st, 2011

When the lights are off and nobody’s home, chances are your neighbors have moved. What are the top 5 reasons that people pack up their belongings and move? Data from the Census Bureau offers some clues.
  1. Upgrade. The majority of Americans who move do so in order to live better, mostly by moving into a new or better home or apartment. Some upgrade by buying a home rather than continuing to rent. Others move because they want to live in a better neighborhood or in a neighborhood with less crime.
  2. Family Matters. The next most likely reason that Americans move is due to a change in marital status, either from couples setting up their own household or from couples undergoing a divorce. Increases or decreases of the number of members in the household also trigger a large number of moves, as families with new children seek more space, while empty-nesters seek smaller residences.
  3. Got the Job! Moving to accept a new job is another primary reason why people move. Work transfers were also fairly high on the list.
  4. Can’t Stand the Commute. A surprising number of people move simply to be closer to their place of work.
  5. Downgrade. Not so surprisingly, a number of people move seeking cheaper housing, or because they had either lost their job or were looking for work.
One odd note: did you know that people frequently leave behind their satellite dish when they move?

Choosing Between the High Speed Internet Providers in My Area

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

With all of the available high speed internet providers in my area, choosing a single company can be difficult. There are so many plans to wade through, so many ads to consider. However, there’s actually a third party resource that makes it all a lot easier. You go to this site, check which companies service your state, and check availability by entering in your zip code and you’re instantly given a ton of relevant information. You find out who the providers are in your specific area, what type of internet they offer and what their specials and promotions are. It made it such a breeze to figure out what the best plan was for me.

When I was choosing the right option, I knew I wanted to get a fast speed but also save as much money as possible. It turned out that the best way to do that was to take advantage of bundled services from internet providers in my area. I ended up with cable TV, home phone and internet for one low price. I’m saving quite a bit off of what I was paying for them all individually, plus I get the added convenience of only working with a single company and having only a single bill to pay each month.
